Pratap Jadhav is an Interior Designer by Profession. He inherits Creativity and Leadership Qualities from his Late Father, Architect Vasant Jadhav, who had an established office at Nasik, Maharastra. Pratap is married to Mrunalini, an Interior Designer coming from a family of Designers.
Practicing for more than two decades, he has designed several prestigious projects, to name a few, Infosys Technologies, Pune, KSB Pumps Corporate office in Pune, Nashik, Coimbatore & Kolkatta, Asta India Corporate office in Vadodra , Finolex Cables, Nipro India Corporate office at Shirval near Pune Nipro Medicals Head office in Hyderabad.
He believes in simplicity and achieving a timeless design solution for his client.
Pratap Jadhav’s association with IIID started way back in 1994. He became Pune Chapter Chairperson in the year 2004. Under his able leadership there was huge growth in memberships at the Chapter. Since then there was no looking back. He entered the national scene with his entry into national Executive Committee in the year 2006. He has served the E.C. in 5 consecutive Committees and has held all portfolios ranging from Membership Development to Chapter coordination. For the last 4 years he has been playing a key role in the policy making of IIID first as President-Elect and now as President since May 2015.
He has also been Secretary General for Asia Pacific Space Designers Alliance (APSDA) during 2010-2014. He has successfully chaired five National Conventions for IIID.
A man with a vision and principles, he is an academician, having spent ten long years in active teaching as Head of the Department, Interior Design and presently Visiting Faculty to Sinhagad College of Architecture.
His passion for education is reflected in IIID’s education policy. His vision is to bring maximum number of Educational Institutes in IIID fold so that there can be cohesive education policies on all India basis benefiting students, faculty and the design profession as a whole.
He is also instrumental in digitising IIID with a mobile App and a Membership portal with on-line Membership fee payment facility.
In his quest to take the Design to the masses a Design Yatra was organised by IIID wherein 4 cars (NANO’s – the most economical small Indian car) will traverse a distance of 18000 kms throughout India interacting with the people offering design solutions for their daily needs.
His strength is Team building and taking people along with him to achieve set goals. His vision is crystal clear about the roadmap of IIID. His communication skills are unprecedented as he can eloquently deliver his thoughts, mesmerising the audience.
As his ascend to the top is from grass root level, his vision encompasses the bigger picture with all perspectives. This skill has helped IIID in rejuvenating the Chapters which now are working as a close knit family. Although a tough task master, people contribute with pleasure towards common objectives of the Institute.
He is also an active Rotarian. He was recently conferred with “PUNE DESIGN PRIDE “Award for his Dynamic Leadership and his Service to the Profession of Interior Design.
